Lady cop 'killer' nabbed in Bantayan

(UPDATED) -- The suspect in the killing of Police Officer 1 Mae Sasing was caught in Madridejos, Bantayan, northern Cebu, last Friday morning, November 3.

Suspect Felix Pastorfide Taytayan was caught by the operatives of Mandaue City Police Office's (MCPO) City Intelligence Branch (CIB), Investigation and Detective Management Branch (IDMB) and Police Station 3.

Senior Superintendent Roberto Alanas, MCPO director, said they have a strong case against the suspect.

He said they have several witnesses who shed light on the police officer's murder.

Superintendent Bernuli Abalos, the CIB and IDMB chief, said they consider the murder of Sasing as crime of passion.

He said the suspect was mad at Sasing, after learning that she had a live-in partner.

"He wanted her to marry him," said Abalos in Tagalog.

The police officer was assigned in Lapu-Lapu City Police Office as the desk officer of the Quality Service Lane

Sasing was shot dead in Barangay Basak, Mandaue City around 6 p.m., last October 31. (KAL)
