Lapanday donates lot to Davao police office

A 1,000 square meter (sqm.) lot in Barangay Mandug was donated by Lapanday Foods Corporation (LFS) to Davao City Police Office (DCPO) where a new structure will be built that seen to further boost the security monitoring in the area of Buhangin.

“Mapasalamaton kami nga ang Lapanday Food Corporation nag-donate ug luna purposely sa Davao City Police Office (DCPO) (We are thankful to Lapanday Food Corporation for donating a lot to DCPO) I think intended for Police Station, for DCPO use,” Gaspan said in an interview on Tuesday, September 19.

Gaspan said police officials have yet to discuss what kind of structure will be built there. She said it could be a new Buhangin Police Station, a public safety building, or police barracks.

On Monday, September 18, during the Police Regional office (PRO)-Davao 116th Police Service Anniversary at Camp Quintin M. Merecido, Catitipan, Buhangin, Davao City, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Ronald dela Rosa signed the deed of donation with the LFC.

“Kung mahimoan man, dako siya ug tabang sa seguridad para mamonitor nato ang any presence of enemy considering na medyo naa nay issue nga nahitabo sa Buhangin katong pagsunog sa Lapanday Corporation (If it will be realized, it will a great help in monitoring presence of enemy considering the past events where the box plant of LFC was razed),” Gaspan said.

She, however, said only the lot was donated and they are yet to source funds for the structure from their part, the national headquarters, and the local government unit of the city in order to build the structure.

With this, the incident like the one happened earlier this year perpetrated by the members of the communist New People's Army against the LFC facility will not be repeated and the security of the communities in the area will be upheld.
