Now on its 37th year, the countries longest foot race will once again raise its challenge to runners from all around Baguio, Benguet, and other neighboring provinces.
u201cLast year we had almost 6,100 participants but because of some changes Milo has only limited this year to not more than 4,700,” said race director Che Alberto.
u201cThis is because of the different factors to be considered for the race tulad ng size ng road, traffic, and so on kaya the committee proposed to lessen this year’s participants,” Alberto added.
Held in 17 key cities nationwide, Baguio is one of the four cites in Luzon to hold the qualifying race.
The marathon will hold four different race distances which will include 3K, 5K, 10K, and 21K that will cost 75 (for students 3K and 5K), 100, 500, and 600 accordingly.
Registration fee is inclusive of Rebook singlet, certificates of finish, and a race bib with an electronic timing device.
Part of the registration fee will go to the Milo Marathon’s “Help Give a Pair of Shoe” program, were several pair of rubber shoes are distributed to deserving students from Baguio and Benguet.
Organizers said the 21K category will be the qualifying distance for the national 42K finals to be held in Manila this comingDecember 8.
Prizes will include cash, trophies and medals for the top 10 finishers in each category while the 21K will receive a finisher’s medal plus a loot bag.
This year’s registration started September 1 and will close October 21 or until supplies for the electronic race bibs will last.
