Lawmaker challenges Angeles police to lead initiatives of change

PAMPANGA Representative Carmelo Lazatin II (1st district) challenged Angeles City police on Monday, July 3, to lead their own initiatives towards change and better public service.

Lazatin was guest of honor and speaker for the morning ceremonies at Camp Tomas Pepito in Sto. Domingo village.

“You are better than politicians in the sense that you have an enormous responsibility towards the community in keeping peace and order and maintaining your own integrity,” Lazatin said, adding that the local police in the city strive to maintain a legacy of service and honesty.

He said that the local police should strive to resist corruption at every stage of their work and try to pursue better and efficient public service in their own little way.

The lawmaker also said that legacy in public service is something that everybody should strive for. He added that the legacy of his father former Representative Carmelo “Tarzan” Lazatin and even his grandfather contributed to the trust that was given him by voters of the first district when he ran for office.

“We must maximize the resources given to us and strive to do the best we can,” Lazatin said, added that those small initiatives for change can go a long way.
