Lawyer loses P2M worth of jewelries

AN ESTIMATED P2 million worth of jewelries were stolen by unidentified persons from a female lawyer’s house located in a residential village in Barangay Mandalagan, Bacolod City Saturday, November 4.

Senior Inspector Jun Ray Batadlan, head of Police Station 3, said the robbers climbed the perimeter fence and entered through the house owner’s child’s bathroom window located at the second floor.

The perpetrators then proceeded to her bedroom and destroyed the lock of her cabinet, where she kept the jewelry items, including rings, pairs of earrings, necklaces, wrist watches, among others.

Batadlan said the house owner, whom he refused to name, was not home when the robbery happened.

She discovered the incident at 10:45 p.m.

Batadlan said they are eyeing an inside job because the robbers knew where the jewelries were placed and they did not even take the gadgets found in the bedroom.

He added that four persons probably committed the crime, targeting only the jewelries.

Batadlan said they are investigating the people living and working at the lawyer’s residence to find more evidence.
