Licensing office revenue collection up by P32M

THE Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) on Monday, July 17, announced that the revenue generated from business tax and fees has increased this year.

BPLO chief Benjie Barredo said the total revenue from business taxes and other business fees for the first half of 2017 reached P242 million.

Barredo said the first semester’s collection was higher by P32 million compared to the P210 million collections for the same time period in 2016.

He said that business taxes drew in P209 million, while revenues for all other business-related fees reached P33 million.

The BPLO chief said that figures from the mid-year report of the BPLO also showed an increase in business registration and renewal numbers from local establishments in this city.

He said there are 1,354 new registrants and 10,554 renewals as of June 30, this year.

He added this tops the figures for the previous year’s mid-year record, which had 1,175 new registrations and 9,756 renewals. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
