Liza Soberano on going solo in 'Darna'

LIZA Soberano admitted that she needs to get used to working with other actors once she started shooting for the much-anticipated movie "Darna".

In a way, the upcoming Star Cinema flick will be Soberano's solo project after her well-loved on-screen team up with leading man Enrique Gil.

The Kapamilya actress said Gil is proud of her and supportive of her new movie, but working without the actor would never be the same.

"He's very proud of me and talagang sinusuportahan niya ako. I am kind of nervous kasi after a long time working together all the time, first time ko na gagawa ng project na hindi siya kasama," she said in a CinemaNews interview.

Soberano added, "Sabi ko, 'Parang hindi ako sanay na hindi ikaw yung ka-eksena ko'. Naranasan ko sa MMK ("Maalaala Mo Kaya") and it was really weird taping without him."

But even without Gil, the actress said she's looking forward to meeting new people and excited for what's in store for her in the coming months.

As for their love team, the two are still doing a teleserye project soon while Gil will be doing a movie under the direction of Cathy Garcia-Molina.

Meanwhile, until now the actress couldn't believe that she's actually the new "Darna".

"Super happy naman ako. Actually I was really overwhelmed by the greetings I got. Lahat ng tao ang tawag na sa akin ay Darna at hindi na Liza."

Soberano said it's a surreal moment for her to be the heir to the iconic superheroine character.

"Pagnaririnig ko 'yan medyo na pi-pressure ako because you know everybody's watching you, kaya medyo kabado ako on my part. But I'm also confident that I would be able to succeed as a good role model to the younger generation," she ended. (SunStar Philippines)
