Local leaders train in development planning

COMMUNITY leaders have joined a workshop which would help address the needs of every community and household in Barangay Cambayobo in Calatrava and Barangay Paitan in Escalante City.

The workshops were initiated by the Peace, Integration and Development Action Team (Pidat) of the Provincial Peace, Integration and Development Unit (Pro-Pidu).

The workshops aimed to bring out the needs of every community and households to enable the agencies and sectors collaborating with the Pro-Pidu to address them.

The leaders’ plans and recommendations were aimed to help them improve their livelihood, sources of income, and quality of life.

The workshop in Barangay Cambayobo is ongoing until April 30, while the training in Barangay Paitan was held last April 14 to 16.

The activities are being implemented by the Negros Occidental and the 303rd Infantry Brigade of the Philippine Army.

rGovernor Alfredo Marañon Jr., who consulted the residents in Calatrava on their immediate concerns, pledged to provide them with a potable water system once they can identify a sufficient water source and submit their project proposal.

The barangay officials were assisted by troopers of the 303rd Infantry Brigade and 62nd Infantry Battalion in the preparation of the venue for the activities. (NLG)
