LOOK: Supermoon as seen from around the world

SUPERMOON lit up the Earth's sky on Sunday, December 3, 2017.

Supermoons happen when a full moon approximately coincides with the moon's perigee, or a point in its orbit at which it is closest to Earth, according to www.space.com. The moon appeared up to 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than usual.

Here in the Philippines, the moon reached its perigee at 4:43 p.m. and reached the Full Moon phase at 11:47 p.m., according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Here's how the moon appeared all over the world.
