SENATOR Juan Edgardo "Sonny" Angara's wife looked fine on the red carpet during the State of the Nation Address (Sona) on Monday, July 24, when she wore an old dress from her junior's prom.
Tootsy arrived at the Batasan Pambansa in a simple, short-length, cream-colored dress, accompanied by her lawmaker husband.
To the unsuspecting eye, it seemed that it took Tootsy days to prepare for the event. But she revealed that she actually wore a 26-year-old dress.
Tootsy explained that she didn’t get to prepare for the Sona and eventually decided to wear the Pitoy Moreno Filipiniana she wore to her junior prom in 1991.
"Ignore the fit as my 42-year-old body is definitely different from my 15-year-old self."
Angara, on his part, shared a similar photo and jokingly said that even his socks from high school wouldn’t fit him now.
“My wife wore her prom dress from 1991. Ako kahit medyas ng high school, di na kasya. Life is unfair,” he said.
Angara and his wife were among the hundreds of attendees at President Rodrigo Duterte’s second Sona held at the House of Representatives. (SunStar Philippines)
