Lovi, Tom bare 'Someone to watch over me' plot

HOW far can you go for love? Are you willing to stay and sacrifice for someone even if he or she does not recognize you at all?

This is the painful reality of GMA-7’s newest teleserye entitled “Someone to Watch Over Me” with Tom Rodriguez and Lovi Poe as lead stars.

Tom will play the role of TF, a Banking and Finance professional, while Lovi is Joanna, his simple and loving wife.

The story is under the helm of the multi-awarded director Maryo delos Reyes. The plot will revolve around the life of a couple who are greatly smitten with each other while leading a simple yet happy life.

In an interview, Lovi shared that the relationship of the couple is so perfect that no one would ever thought of it being smeared by a tragedy that will test their marriage.

The relationship of the two will be plagued by troubles as time passes by when Tom's character suddenly loses his memories due to Alzheimer’s disease which he will find out later on the story.

"You'll find out how far you can go for love sa nangyari kay Tom na nagkaroon siya ng Alzheimer’s disease dun saserye," Lovi said in an interview with her and Tom at Rekado Restaurant last August 21.

For Tom, being in the situation of TJ is not easy, knowing that there are sacrifices that need to be done for the sake of fighting for someone’s love.

"It's a sacrifice on what will you do for [the sake of your love where all of a sudden you] can't even recognize yourself and [you are] remembering someone else [instead]," Tom said.

He added that while they are doing the project, the characters they are portraying are slowly starting to develop in them.

"While we are doing it actually, the character is starting to grow in us lalo na pag nakikita na namin 'yung resulta. Ginagawa niyo pa lang, you can say grabe, ganito pala," Tom lamented, whose career even rose to fame when he starred the controversial series, My Husband's Lover of the Kapuso network.

Lovi was also excited to share the kind of acting they did in her newest project.

She said that they really gave their best in portraying their roles and expressing more of their emotions.

The Kapuso actor is also hoping that the series will widen the understanding of many about Alzheimer’s disease.

"Not everyone can relate [to it] but it can happen to some of us. Akala natin noon na it [can only] happen to our grandparents pwede [din] pa la on our age."

Other cast of the series includes Max Collins, Edu Manzano, Jackie Lou Blanco, Isay Alvarez, Ronnie Lazaro, Frances Ignacio and many more.

Witness the mesmerizing story of unconditional love as the story unfolds on your television screen starting September 5 on the primetime slot at GMA-7.
