TWO colorum (unregistered) vehicles were impounded by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) during their operation along Araneta Street in Bacolod City on Thursday.

The operation, led by LTFRB-6 Regional Director Romulo Bernardes, resulted to the apprehension of the first vehicle at about 10:18 a.m.

The van, loaded with nine passengers from Sipalay City, Negros Occidental, was bound for the South Terminal and Bacolod-Silay Airport, records of Police Station 8 showed.

The passengers stopping at the terminal paid P250 each while those going to the airport paid P400 each.

Another van was seized at about 11 a.m. when LTFRB personnel flagged down the vehicle boarded by three passengers, who paid P100 for their fare from Bacolod City to southern part of the province, police records from Police Station 9 said.

The vehicle was owned by residents of Bago City.

Last Tuesday, a colorum vehicle was also impounded by the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office during an “anti-colorum” operation along Sambok terminal on Lopez Jaena Street.
