Luknay Creek cleanup drive

FIFTY volunteers revisited the Luknay Creek and gathered as many sacks of garbage from the vital waterway in San Fernando that exits to the sea through South Poblacion.

As least 22 Luknay residents joined 10 employees each from Taiheiyo Cement Philippines, Inc. (TCPI) and Solid Earth Development Corp. (SEDC) in cleaning the 593-meter lowland portion of the creek.

The volunteers segregated and properly disposed of the garbage they gathered under the Adopt-an-Estero program jointly pursued by TCPI and SEDC with the theme, “Akong Tugkaran, Akong Limyohan” (My Surroundings, I Clean).

The activity started and ended at the TCPI multi-purpose recreation center where SEDC community relations officer Gines T. Boltron gave an awareness pep talk to the participants.
