THIS year, I discovered a lot of really great and helpful websites and entertaining YouTube videos. Here is a roundup of my favorite websites and YouTube videos for 2016.
Duolingo (duolingo.com)
I love learning new languages and this website definitely helped me learn some new languages. What’s great about this website is that you can learn the language all by yourself through their interactive modules. Choose from more than 20 languages to learn from. For those who are already learning a language, this site will be of great help.
English Grammar (englishgrammar.org)
I write a lot in my previous jobs and also in the current one. With the many rules in the English Grammar, there are times when I am not sure which rule applies to which and even forget some of them. Thankfully, I stumbled upon this website which offers clearly explained English Grammar rules. The best thing about this site are its downloadable documents, which I can check when offline.
Aswang Project (aswangproject.com)
This is best for many of us who are not familiar with our local myths and folklore. We may have heard of some but not all of them. When I found out about this site, I got very excited. I believe Philippine myth and folklore is not well represented in our mainstream media or education system. This website does a great job of highlighting the different myths and folklore of the different islands, tribes, and provinces. I like how they categorized their articles based on where the folklore is coming from.
Escape Manila (escapemanila.com)
Glen Santillan has recently visited all 81 provinces in the country and his site, Escape Manila, features the different unique experiences he had in each province. His site also features different articles on travel, hotels, events, and food, among others.
Seeker (seeker.com)
For those of you who want to learn something new every day, Seeker is the site you should visit. I first found out about this site through their YouTube channel. Since then, I have been dropping by here to get my regular dose of new knowledge.
