Magdalo member named director of PDEA-NIRO

NEGRENSE Julius Navales, a member of the Samahang Magdalo, has been named director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for its Negros Island Regional Office (NIRO).

Navales was designated as regional director effective July 11 upon the directive of PDEA Director General Isidro Lapeña.

Lapeña issued Agency Order No. 2016-256, designating him as the successor of PDEA-NIRO Officer-in-Charge Ronnie Delicana.

The turn-over of command is set next week.

Delicana has been assigned to the Administrative Holding Office- Administrative Human Resource Service (AHO-AHRS) effective July 11.

Navales, formerly regional director of PDEA Region 8, is a graduate of the Philippine Military Academy Class1998.

He was among the members of the Magdalo group who led the Oakwood mutiny, where they demanded the resignation of then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, and senior officers of the Armed Forces.

Navales was detained for more than four years before he joined the PDEA in 2008.

He received the Dangerous Drugs Board Chairman’s Medal of Merit for his strong leadership skills and attended various seminars and workshops related to his being the PDEA director.
