A FARMER caught having an affair with a married woman was hacked to death by the husband of his lover at Purok Narra, Barangay Tabugon in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental Monday afternoon.
Killed was Reynaldo Enanoria, 62, a widower.
Superintendent Rhea Santos, city police chief, said the suspect Dennis Laurita, 49, decided to verify rumors of his wife’s affair with Enanoria.
Laurita, who has nine children with his wife, went to Enanoria’s farm house and heard Enanoria and his wife having a conversation.
When he came to the house, he saw Enanoria kissing his 46-year-old wife, prompting him to attack the victim.
Enanoria tried to escape, but Laurita chased him and hacked him using a cane cutter several times.
Enanoria succumbed to multiple hack wounds while Laurita was arrested by a village official and a watchman.
Recovered from Laurita’s possession was the bladed weapon used in the crime.
Murder charges were filed on Tuesday against Laurita, who is detained at the Kabankalan City Police Station.
