Man points gun at kid; handcuffed by cops for illegal firearm

A MAN who leads a volunteer group in the city was arrested for allegedly aiming his gun at a minor in Barangay Capitol Site around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 28.

Rafael Tiu Enriquez, 30, who is the director of Rescue Assistance Peacekeeping Intelligence Detail (Rapid), was accosting vandals in the area, when he chanced upon the victim who was standing outside of their home, police said.

The victim, a 14-year-old boy, was looking at the commotion when Enriquez saw him.

He approached the boy and asked if he was part of the group.

Enriquez later pointed his gun at the boy, who trembled in fear. The boy and his mother reported the incident to Abellana Police Station.

Police later seized the suspect's .45 pistol loaded with eight bullets.

He will face charges for violating the anti-child abuse law and possessing illegal firearm. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
