Man with 3 arrest warrants nabbed

A 51-YEAR-OLD man with three pending arrest warrants was nabbed by authorities at Gonzaga Street, in Victorias City Saturday afternoon. 

Arrested was Jose Penafiel, of Sitio Pasil, Villa Miranda, Barangay 6-A, Victorias police chief Santiago Rapiz said.

Rapiz said Penafiel was arrested around 1:20 p.m. by virtue of three arrested warrants, two for violation of Republic Act 8294 or illegal possession of firearms issued by Judge Felipe Banzon of the Regional Trial Court Branch 69 in Silay City who set his bail at P80,000 and P200,000. 

He said Penafiel has another arrest warrant for acts of lasciviousness issued by Judge Ricardo Real of Municipal Trial Court in Cities in Victorias City who set his bail at P12,000. 

Meanwhile, a 38-year-old man with pending arrest warrant was also arrested by Station 7 policemen at Arabay 1, Barangay Vista Alegre, Bacolod City around 11:05 a.m. Saturday. 

Arrested was Rogeny Palonpon alias “Upog,” of Barangay Vista Alegre, Station 7 chief Jose Mulleta said. 

Mulleta said Palonpon was arrested by virtue of arrest warrant for homicide issued by Judge Fernando Elumba, of RTC Branch 42, Bacolod City who set his bail at P40,000.
