Mandaue enforcers to apprehend drivers wearing masks, bonnets

THE Traffic Enforcement Agency of Mandaue (Team) has started apprehending motorcycle drivers wearing bonnets, face masks, and other garments that cover the face today, March 2, following several shooting incidents involving riding-in-tandem suspects.

Glenn Antigua, chief for operations of Team, said they will also flag down motorcycle drivers that are not wearing the prescribed helmet based on the law.

Antigua said they are now strictly implementing the ordinance that was approved last year in relation to bonnets and face masks.

A fine of P5,000 or imprisonment of six months will be the penalty for the violators of the ordinance.

For the helmets, he said Shangyang, bike helmets and nutshell helmets will not be allowed. (FMG/SunStar Cebu)
