Mandaue-Mactan bridge closed to vehicles for an hour on January 20

THE Mandaue-Mactan bridge will be closed for more than an hour on January 20, so the images of Señor Santo Niño and the Our Lady of Guadalupe can pass for the fluvial procession, which will start in Lapu-Lapu City.

Mario Napule, head of the Lapu-Lapu City Traffic Management System, said the bridge will be closed at 2:30 a.m.

Motorists were advised to take the Marcelo B. Fernan Bridge during that time on January 20.

Napule said the bridge will be immediately opened once the religious icons reach the Nuestra Señora Virgen Dela Regla (NSVDR) National Shrine for a holy mass before the fluvial procession.

During the coordination meeting at the Lapu-Lapu City Hall Friday afternoon, January 5, City Administrator Florito Pozon said the crowd will be controlled within the NSVDR National Shrine, especially inside the church. (FMG/SunStar Cebu)
