Mandaue sets rerouting for translacion

THERE will be rerouting of traffic during the Translacion on Jan. 13 in Mandaue City, but some roads leading to St. Joseph Church and City Hall will be closed.

Starting at 4 a.m., SB Cabahug St. and C. Ouano St. will be closed and motorists are advised to take alternative routes going to Cebu City.

Public utility jeepneys coming from Looc will be diverted to A.C. Cortes St. going to the city. Other alternative routes include the one turning left to Plaridel St. to Andres Soriano then to Reclamation Area.

Motorists taking P. Burgos St. can access Andres Soriano St. to Cebu City.

Wala tay rerouting nga buhaton kay inig agi gyod sa kinatumyan sa atong caravan, i-open man dayon nato ang karsada og balik (There will be no rerouting because after the tail of the caravan shall have passed, we will open the roads again),” Mandaue City Traffic Enforcement Agency operations chief Glen Antigua said.

Traffic is expected to be heavy on that day, a Friday, which is also payday.

Expect gyod ta og heavy traffic pero ato gyong paningkamotan para di gyod ma-inconvenient ang atong mga motorist (We will do our best to make it easy for motorists),” Antigua said.

To be designated as parking areas are P. Gomez St. going to Collonade St. and from Barangay Centro heading to Andres Soriano St. for devotees.

The public is advised not to park their vehicles within the vicinity of the church and City Hall.

Violators will be apprehended.

Automatic og way tag-iya atong towingon ug among dal-on sa Manduae City Sports Complex. Kung naa ang tag-iya among isyuhan og ticket (We will not hesitate to tow vehicles),” Antigua said.

Antigua said they will deploy traffic personnel in areas near the church and City Hall, and also along the path of the procession.

Antigua said they will assign more traffic enforcers on A. Del Rosario St. and SB Cabahug St. to discourage parking in the area, which is considered as a choke point.

C. Ouano St. will also be closed. Motorists who are going to Cebu City can access the AS Fortuna St. to ML Quezon going to the Reclamation Area.

The traffic office will only deploy 50 of their personnel along the parade route. Jenevie Cabajar, Miguel Ernest Ermac/USJ-R Interns
