THE Committee on Public Works chaired by Councilor Maria Mylen Victoria Yaranon has scheduled a public dialogue with regards to the planned rehabilitation of the Baguio Convention Center.
The following matters to be discussed include the feasibility study and sources of funds for the rehabilitation and retrofitting of the Baguio Convention Center, the resolution for the design competition and likewise the ordinance for the appropriation of funds for the said competition. The lady councilor is also expected to deliberate on what transpired during the meeting with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for the availability of funds for the repair and rehabilitation of the convention center including the joint structural assessment with the DPWH.
Last on the agenda will be the stakeholder’s parameters and requirement for the repair and rehabilitation on the said landmark of the City of Baguio. The dialogue is scheduled on August 31, 2017, Thursday at 9 a.m. at the City Council Session Hall.
Meanwhile as part of the celebrations of Baguio Day, “Baguio @108: Land of Champions,” Session Road will be closed to vehicular traffic from midnight of August 31 up to midnight of September 1.
Among the said activities during the said date includes concerts featuring our local bands, Baguio Zumba group exhibition, pocket events for arts and culture groups, chalk art painting activities and sidewalk cafes.
