Marvil: Vital legislations set for public discussion

THE City Council Committee on Social Services, Women and Urban Poor headed by Councilor Lilia Fariñas will discuss important proposals during the public consultation set on Wednesday, September 28, 8 a.m. at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall located at the Baguio City Hall.

Slated for discussions include the lady councilor’s proposal entitled “Mandating funeral parlors in the City of Baguio to employ female embalmers and morticians and to perform their duties in accordance to the gender of the deceased”.

Another topic to be deliberated is Proposed Ordinance No. 0155-17 introduced by Councilors Arthur Allad-iw, Benny Bomogao, Lilia Fariñas and Elmer Datuin entitled "Prohibiting gender-based street and public spaces harassment in Baguio City and prescribing penalties therefor, and for other purposes."

Vice mayor Edison Bilog’s proposal entitled "Providing discounts to solo parents with annual income of less than P250,000.00 in the City of Baguio and providing penalties for violations thereof" will also be conferred together with the proposed resolution also introduced by the vice mayor together with Councilor Faustino Olowan entitled "Providing for additional benefits to solo parents and their children, appropriating funds therefor, and for other purposes (Additional Benefits to Solo parents and Their Children Ordinance)."
