Massive triple double by Cousins propels Pelicans win

IT WAS a historical night for DeMarcus Cousins as he not only led his team, New Orleans Pelicans. to a win, but had a triple double with 44 points, 24 rebounds and 10 assists.

The Pelicans had a hard fought game against the Chicago Bulls in double overtime as Cousins and Anthony Davis led their team, 132-128.

With 3 minutes left in the fourth quarter, the Pelicans were down by 10. This led them to have a 14 to 4 run to send the game to overtime.

Lauri Markkanen from the Bulls had a chance to take the lead but he missed his second free throw which sent the game to double overtime.

Cousins put away the Bulls for good by sinking free throws after being fouled with 8 seconds left in double overtime.

The Pelicans were excellent in causing 24 turnovers for the Bulls with their defensive plays and stops.

Jerian Grant for the Bulls scored 22 points in the loss.

Along with Cousins, Anthony Davis helped him in scoring with his 34 points and 9 rebounds. Cousins was 5 of 11 from the 3-point line. (Frankl Glarino, USC AB Communications Intern/SunStar Philippines)
