Matobato's lawyer questions resolution

THE legal counsel of the self-proclaimed Davao Death Squad hitman Edgar Matobato is set to file a motion for reconsideration Monday, January 9, before the Digos Prosecutor's Office to hold its recommendation of proper filing of frustrated murder charge against Matobato.

Lawyer Jude Sabio, in a text message to SunStar Davao Saturday, said that he is filing a motion for reconsideration before the Digos Prosecutor's Office after learning that a resolution was released last Thursday.

“Ako katingalahan kay gimadali ug wala aksyuni akong motion for additional time. Gi-release niya ang resolution after Matobato’s headline interview sa Inquirer (They seem to be in a hurry and did not even act on my motion for additional time. The resolution was released after Matobato’s headline interview in Inquirer),” Sabio said.

Sabio said that he thinks the resolution crafted was biased.

Sabio said that he will file early Monday morning.

Based from the previous reports, the resolution for the frustrated murder was released Thursday, January 5, by the Davao City Prosecutor's Office.

The criminal complaint arose when Salcedo, a retired adjudicator of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Southern Mindanao, identified Matobato as the one who shot him on October 23, 2014, as he was stepping out of the DAR regional office in Digos.
