Matteo Guidicelli ready for Manila concert on November 30

CEBU'S very own, Matteo Guidicelli, is not backing down from revealing more of himself as an artist despite accusations that he is just using his girlfriend, Sarah Geronimo, to get ahead in his career.

The Cebuano actor is in fact gearing up for another major concert, dubbed "Hey Matteo," which will be held at Kia Theater on November 30, to promote his second album.

In a press conference on Tuesday, November 7, Guidicelli said he knows what he is doing and he will never be affected by what other people say about him.

"I'm not gonna be affected. I know what I'm doing. We know the truth. It's Sarah and I in a relationship. Wala naman silang alam sa totoong nangyayari... They can think whatever they want to think," he told the media when asked what he feels about the issue.

He said Geronimo is always supportive, and admitted that she is a "big inspiration" to whatever he does.

"I use this inspiration to fuel, make the album, my band, everything. She's a big inspiration," he said.

Guidicelli and Geronimo have been in a relationship for three years now.

Passion for music

The Cebuano actor and triathlete said he will focus on producing songs with his band next year, and hopefully hold tours in schools.

"It's been my dream. I always wanted to hold a concert, kahit nung wala pa si Sarah... I think I found the love with music, especially with music with a band. It's not about me. It's about us. I want to focus on this next year," he said.

Guidicelli's first concert, dubbed "Matteo Made in Cebu" and held last November 18 in his hometown, was a success, as thousands of people watched it.

The team behind the "Matteo Made in Cebu" is the same group that will be bringing the concert in Manila, which this time, has a different concept.

Different concept

"It's more of a rock and roll, fun show...It's prioritizing original music, more than the covers," said Guidicelli.

He said this time, he will introduce the other side of him -- as a singer.

"The whole album was inspired by the whole truth. It's about what I feel. I hope the millennials will also relate to it, if they're going through the same thing. It's basically truth," he said.

His second album, which will be featured during the concert, has 10 songs.

"There's a mix of songs...It's from intense to really 'kalma.' Parang lambing lang, and there's the Hey yo!" said Guidicelli, adding he made the album "because it's like a love letter I made for you."

Guidicelli's concert in Manila is produced by Big Bang Productions and Star Music, and co-produced by Hills and Dreams Events Concepts Co.

Among the special guests are Cebuano singer Morissette Amon, rapper Loonie, and Kiana Valenciano. KZ Tandingan, who joined Guidicelli in his first concert, will not be able to perform this time, as "she has a prior commitment abroad."
