MASANTOL--The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) here warned Masantoleños to be extra careful of possible cyclones this rainy season.
"I advice them to stay in their houses and if they see a cyclone, they must go to much safer houses and concrete structures," said MDRRMO head Jess Manansala.
Manansala said that a family from an open space in Barangay San Isidro Matua was recently affected by a cyclone.
"Malakas kasi yung ipo-ipo usually sa open space eh dalawang bahay lang silang nandoon kaya naubos talaga yung bubong nila pati ibang appliances," said Manansala.
He added that although the house is made of concrete, damages were still estimated at around P30,000 to P50,000.
