Minglanilla, Carcar issue traffic advisory for Holy Week

THE Municipality of Minglanilla and City of Carcar released Tuesday, March 27, a traffic advisory for motorists going to southern Cebu this Holy Week.

The Municipal Government of Minglanilla is set to close the stretch of Natalio Bacalso from Barangays Calajoan to Tungkop.

The road closure is to give way to religious and cultural activities related to this year's Sugat Kabanhawan Festival.

The scheduled road closures are:

Maundy Thursday, March 29 -- 3 p.m. until religious activities end

Good Friday, March 30 -- 4 p.m. until religious activities end

Easter Sunday, April 1 -- 2 p.m. until Street Parade ends at 6 p.m.

Motorists going to the south on the said dates and time are advised to take a right turn in Sitio Sangi, Barangay Calajoan, turn right to Barangay Tulay and another right turn upon reaching Barangay Tungko Proper and exit at the national highway.

Four-wheel vehicles and below can make a right turn to Springwood Subdivision and exit toward the national highway.

The same route, except the Springwood Subdivision detour, applies to vehicles going to Cebu City.

In Carcar City, the local government will be opening the new diversion roads starting Wednesday, March 28, at 1 p.m.

Motorists are advised to take the Diversion Road in front of the new Carcar City Hall and proceed up to the Provincial Hospital, then take a left turn to the National Highway, to exit either to Sibonga or Barili.

Candice Acuña, Carcar Information Officer, said there will be directional signages and traffic, tanod and police personnel who will guide motorists. (SunStar Cebu)
