THE Davao City Engineer's Office is preparing for the issuance of a notice of repair for the Mintal Galleria that recently sought approval for special permit in the City Council.
CEO Chief Inspection and Enforcement Division Hilario Fernandez said Thursday that their inspector found the cockpit in the state of dilapidation, which is the basis of their notice.
"Our inspector checked the area and we will soon issue notice because the cockpit is in the state of dilapidation and our recommendation is for operators to demolish or repair the area," he said.
Fernandez said there are some buildings that their office rarely inspect.
"We conduct annual building inspections yearly but some are not checked due to the high number of buildings but this year we conduct massive annual building inspections," Fernandez said.
He said they check problems of the structure of the building and they will give notice to repair and fix the critical part.
Fernandez said operators are required to apply permit for renovation for building repair, and after the renovations are done, the operator should file another application for certificate of occupancy.
He said other cockpits they have inspected are in Buhangin area and was repaired recently.
He said the renovation of Matina Galleria was finished recently.
