MX3 supports CCF bloodletting activity

THE Christ's Commission Fellowship (CCF) in partnership with the MX3–DMI Medical Supply Co. Inc. hosted last Saturday, October 21, its first Bloodletting Activity in coordination with the Philippine Red Cross-Davao Chapter at CFF-Davao in Bajada in Davao City.

CCF-Davao Pastoral Care Department head Pastor Richard Dabi told SunStar Davao that this is the first time that the church hosted a bloodletting activity in coordination with the Philippine Red Cross for their community in the region.

Dabi said the CCF in partnership with the MX3–DMI Medical Supply aims to pull donor cards and have stacks of blood bags to help their congregants and their loved ones who would possibly in need of blood during emergency situation.

He said he and the pastoral care have experience several times wherein the CCF congregants and/or their loved ones underwent a surgery or whatever hospital procedure that needs blood and when they asked for blood, they need to scour.

Dabi added that blood donation is important as it can save lives to other people.

"If we have reserved donor cards, we can immediately address their needs," Dabi said, adding that looking for donors these days, in spite of the increasing population here in Davao City and in the region, is still quite difficult for people.

Katherine Ponla, coordinator of the Bloodletting Activity, also said having such activity is also a good way for them not only to aid the members of the church, but also other people who are in need of blood in line with medical operation.

Around 50 volunteers were screened Saturday morning and some 35 bags of blood were collected. The activity had donors coming from various sectors. With the successful activity, the CCF is planning to hold the same action in 2018.

Dabi also thanked MX3-DMI Medical Supply Co. Inc. for its support to the bloodletting activity. He said it was the MX3 founder, Gina Mendoza, who voluntarily supported their activity by giving gifts packs for the first 300 blood donors.
