NBI agent asked to appear for probe on car shooting

SENIOR Inspector Larry Teovisio, head of Bacolod City Police Station 3, has asked a special agent of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to face the police for the investigation on the shooting incident in Barangay Bata Thursday night, October 6.

Four unidentified armed men on board a Mitsubishi Pajero fired at a Toyota Innova near a residential village along Lacson Street. Both vehicles did not have plate numbers.

Teovisio said he went to the NBI-Bacolod office on Friday to ask the NBI personnel, who supposedly witnessed the incident, to give statement.

He told me that he’ll go to the police station, but he failed to appear, the station chief said.

Teovisio said they would like to ask for details that can further help them in their investigation.

After the shooting incident, policemen recovered seven fired cartridges of M16, a live ammunition of 7.62 caliber, and 14 bullets of .9 mm.

Teovisio said they are continuously monitoring the hospitals for possible reports of injuries to passenger or passengers due to gunshot wounds.

The NBI special agent claimed the armed men threatened him at gunpoint and fired at his vehicle's wheels. They also fired at the Toyota Innova after they identified him as an NBI personnel.

It is possible that he is accused of being somebody else, the police said.
