NBI, PAOCTF arrest 44 persons at cybersex dens

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga -- A total of 44 persons suspected to be involved in cybersex were arrested by combined agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Task Force (PAOCTF) during a raid in three internet shops in Barangay Bonifacio, Dinalupihan, Bataan, Wednesday before midnight.

Senior Superintendent Flynn Dongbo, Officer-In-Charge of the Bataan police provincial office, said the raiding team swooped down the internet shops Charlote, Deadline and Barracks, all owned by Domingo Cordova.

Confiscated from the internet shops were 151 computer sets and other paraphernalia, Dongbo said.

During the raid 44 workers including eight women of the three Internet shops were arrested and taken for inquest at the Provincial Prosecutors' Office, he said.

"The male workers pretended to be women and they were sending their nude pictures to convince foreigners to become members of the site," the report said.

Ronald Agudo Jr., chief of cybercrime of TAOCFT, the forensic experts will see if the suspects were into child porn.

"Pero, kahit child or adult porn, violation pa rin sa batas," Agudo said.

He said that they are still validating if the suspects were involved in extortion.

“Kapag napatutuhanan, we will file appropriate charges,” Agudo said.

All the arrested persons were taken to NBI in Manila for further investigation.
