NegOcc golfers shine in PAL Interclub

HOST-NEGROS Occidental tallied 441 points to capture the crown in the Aviators division of the just-concluded PAL Interclub Golf Tournament at the Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club in Bacolod City.

The Negrense team sustained the dominance despite the challenge from Sta. Elena (400) in the later day of the tournament and Sherwood (392) which consistently trailed behind in the first two days.

Former Philippine Team standout JR Tanpinco and Justin Limjap fired 33 points apiece to lead the Negros golfers as Maximo Javelona and Deric Locsin added 23 and 20, respectively.

Davao’s Rancho Palos Verdes settled fourth with 383 followed by Sarangani-Gensan and Stanford with 368 each.

In the Sportswriters division, Mactan Island scored 389 to win the crown as Guinhalaran settled for second place with 372 while Bacolod and Club Filipino de Cebu shared the third spot with 355 apiece and Iloilo with at 338.

Forest Hills edged Villamor Airbase by a slim lead, 460-454 to win the Founders Division as South Cotabato took the Friendship division with three-point advantage over Filipino Golfers Association Kuwait and Bay Golf with 306 each.
