A TOTAL of P736,600 worth of cash incentives were given to Negros Occidental athletes who were medalists in the Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) Meet 2018 held in Iloilo City last February 18 to 23.
The giving of incentives was held Wednesday, March 7, at the Negros Occidental Multi-Purpose Activity Center spearheaded Provincial Sports Coordinator Angel Verdeflor, who represented Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr.
Negros Occidental athletes in the elementary level garnered a total of 138 gold medals, 126 silver medals, and 66 bronze medals while the secondary level athletes won a total of 184 gold medals, 184 silver medals, and 68 bronze medals.
An incentive of P1,000 was given for each gold medal, P800 for silver, and P600 for bronze in both levels. (PR)
