THE City Council of Negros Occidental approved three supplemental budgets amounting to P22.24 million during their regular session Wednesday.

The first approved appropriation was Supplemental Budget No. 5 pegged at P19.606 million that will be allocated for the travelling expenses of 12 offices and a loan payment.

Second District Board Member Salvador Escalante Jr., chairman of SP committee on appropriations, budget, finance, ways and means, said that P17.637 million of the appropriation was “reappropriated” from the 2014 20 percent Provincial Development Fund.

It will be earmarked for the existing loans of the provincial government, he added.

The appropriation will be sourced from the retained earnings in 2015 and inter-fund transfer from the Economic Enterprise Development Department (EEDD).

Also approved by the Provincial Board was the Supplemental Budget No. 4 of EEDD amounting to P2.488 million.

The appropriation will be used for the inter-fund transfer to General Fund and Hospital Operation Department (HOD) and electricity expenses of Mambukal Summer Resort.

The council also approved Supplemental Budget No. 2 of HOD worth P150,000 for the travelling and electricity expenses of the three Capitol-run hospitals.

Escalante said these would be the last supplemental budgets to be passed by the Provincial Board this year.
