New arrest order vs terrorists out soon

ANOTHER arrest order will soon be released by government forces for additional list of terrorist members and supporters for the crime of rebellion.

In an interview, Brigadier General Gilbert Gapay said they will come out with arrest order against the terrorists involved in sowing terror in Marawi City pursuant to the martial law declaration in Mindanao.

"We will come up with another list because base na rin sa mga documents na nare-recover natin sa Marawi. We have been discovering some additional personalities which are not included in the initial list," Gapay said.

However, he could not tell yet when the issuance of the new list and how many names are included in the order. It will direct the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), to "arrest, take into custody and conduct/continue investigation" the suspects for violation of Article 134 (Rebellion) of the Revised Penal Code or any crime related thereto.

Other new personalities to be included are those who were named by the arrested Maute members and tagged them while some were included based on the facts they gathered and evidences they collected during the clearing operations of the military operating in Marawi City.

"These are additional members kasi sa operations natin sa Marawi, we are recovering vital documents, nakikita niyo naman may mga videos, pictures and they really tell us a lot about the Maute Isis terrorist group," Gapay said.

At present, there are already nine Maute members who were captured by authorities and some of them are high-risk suspects.

Gapay said they are focusing their efforts in running after and apprehending those included in Arrest Order Numbers 1 and 2 by closely coordinating with other law enforcement agencies, the Bureau of Immigration, Philippine Coast Guard as well as the local government units.

"Everybody is getting involved dito sa effort in combating terrorism," he said.
