AFTER today’s opening of Nissan showroom in Tagum City, Gateway Group will soon open its Matina facility for the same car manufacturer, an affirmation of its objective for growth.
The Nissan Matina grand showroom is set to open by mid-2018 as Gateway continues to intensify its expansion in Davao Region, in partership with the Japanese car manufacturer.
“We are very confident about the market in Davao Region because there is so much economic development and booming industries in the area. No doubt about the growing market because of the progress present,” said Michael Goho, executive vice president of Gateway Group.
He said they have decided to embark on a massive expansion in this part of the country due to its market potential.
“We also envision to bring back Nissan to where it was truly meant to be, to be one of the major top players in the auto industry,” Goho said.
With this expansion, Goho is confident that Dabawenyos will be able to own a car easier, will have more flexibility with lower downpayments.
“They can also expect a five-star quality service from Gateway because we are committed to delivering on their demands. They can also expect Nissan to be one of the leaders and top-of-mind car brands now and into the future,” he said.
“One thing they must know about the mindset of Gateway is that we are service-oriented rather than profit-oriented, so we care more about making a sale, seeing our cars on the road and seeing our customers satisfied,” Goho added.
He said they, in fact, decided to establish a showroom in Tagum City after they have found out there was lack of presence of Nissan in the area.
“We found that to be such a waste of opportunity. We noticed so much development in Tagum City and its people and we wanted to maximize on the untapped potential. We noticed that car ownership in Tagum was not as easy as it was in Cebu where we are based, so we decided that there is a need to serve and cater to the people of Tagum to make it easier and more convenient for them,” Goho said.
