THE Task Force Davao (TFD) with the City Government, peace advocates and different sectors in the city launched the "No to Terror" advocacy pin at the City Hall drive on Monday, November 21.

City Administrator Zuleika Lopez said the launching of the advocacy pin was an initiative of TFD following the instruction of the Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio to strengthen campaign against terrorism.

"We can only have so much warm bodies in terms of the police, military, and other law enforcers if the public is well-informed and aware.

Security is everyone's concern. We should also be vigilant," Lopez said.

TFD commander Colonel Erwin Bernard Neri said the launching of the "No to Terror" advocacy pin is part of the unit's advocacy in raising awareness and vigilance of the public against terrorism.

Neri said the pin symbolizes their great resolve and commitment to address terrorism.

Neri added this will remind the public that the city will stand up and fight terrorism and will always promote peace.

TFD spokesperson and civil military operations officer Major Mario Tena said the unit produced more than 1,000 "No to Terror" advocacy pins and distributed it to all the attendees of the launching.

Neri added the TFD, in partnership with the different sectors, organizations, security and safety agencies in Davao City, will produce more of the advocacy pins to circulate it not only in the city but in the region.

The launching was graced by the members of the City Government and TFD along with different stakeholders, sectors, city employees, Youth for Peace Movement and other peace advocates.
