OCTOBER 12, the feast day of Our Lady of the Pillar, is a special non-working day in Zamboanga City.
The declaration is pursuant to Republic Act 7350 approved on April 2, 1992 during the time of the late Maria Clara Lorenzo Lobregat, former congressional representative of the city.
The law declares October 12 of every year as a special non-working holiday in the city.
Dubbed as Fiesta Pilar, the day will be devoted to religious activities honoring the La Virgen, with the Fort Pilar Shrine as the center of activities.
Various activities have been lined up for the celebration.
