CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- At least 230 newly and re-elected officials from the provincial, city and local government units in Pampanga were reminded of their
duties and responsibilities as public servants.
During thanksgiving mass during in the oath taking at the Laus Group Event Centre in Pampanga, Archbishop-Emeritus Paciano Aniceto reminded the officials
that the opportunity to serve the people requires greater responsibility.
“When you use your position for your personal interest that’s when anomaly arises. You should remember that you’re here to serve not to be served,” Aniceto
said.
Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Pampanga Director Myrvi Fabia emphasized the importance of public service.
“Public service is a commitment. We should have the commitment and passion in serving our constituent. You are only given three years to serve, but your
serve now will determine the future of the next generation of our cabalens. Just be guided of what is true, what is right and what is just,” Fabia said.
Governor Lilia Pineda in her inaugural address reiterated her call for the officials to unite and work together for the continuous progress of the province.
