P25-M cost on Lagoon renovation 'only an estimate'

NEGROS Occidental Provincial Governor Alfredo Maranon Jr. said he likes the new look of the Capitol Park and Lagoon which was renovated by Ayala Land Inc. (ALI) on an estimated development cost of P25 million.

The governor said the development of the park did not cost the Provincial Government.

He said the P25 million development cost is only an estimate and they did not promise P25 million.

"They only said it was only more or less. It so happened that it fell on the less," the governor quipped.

He was aware that some netizens have expressed disagreements with the way the Capitol Park was re-developed as it appeared quite costly.

"If they don't like it, they might as well go somewhere else," the governor said.

Also, the governor noted the litters scattered inside the park.

He appealed to the public to use the park properly and observe cleanliness.

"Help the Provincial Government maintain the cleanliness and orderliness in the park," he said.
