P300,000 in drugs seized; kagawad, 6 others nabbed

A TOTAL of P300,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized in separate police operations in Negros Occidental in the past two days.

In Calatrava town, a councilman was arrested in a drug bust at Barangay Minapasuk, Thursday, Oct. 27.

The house of John Rey Natial, 43, was raided by operatives after he sold shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) to a police agent for P300.

The operation was jointly conducted by teams from the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Unit (PAIDU) and Regional Special Operations Task Group (RSOTG)-18 in coordination with Calatrava Municipal Police Station.

Police recovered from Natial three sachets of suspected shabu, a .45 caliber pistol, an improvised shotgun and assorted ammunition of .45 caliber, 12 gauge shotgun, and .357 caliber.

Chief Inspector Mark Anthony Darroca, PAIDU chief, said the recovered illegal drugs were valued at P100,000.

Darroca said Natial is a newly-identified drug personality, but considered a high-value target.

In San Carlos City, Edgar Inocencio, 44, of Barangay 3 yielded two packs of shabu with an estimated value of P200,000 following a drug bust conducted by personnel of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-18 and San Carlos City Police Station.

The apprehension took place at Centermall in Barangay Palampas on Wednesday.

Inocencio was identified as a drug personality under the station’s street target list.

In E.B. Magalona town, Cristina Frias, 41, was collared by police at Francisco Maravilla Street, Barangay II-Poblacion on Wednesday.

Police seized from Frias three sachets of shabu and the P500 marked money.

In Valladolid town, Jemar Gentilizo, 22, of Barangay Central Tabao was arrested for sale and possession of illegal drugs.

Gentilizo yielded a sachet of shabu, a cellular phone, and the P260 marked money.

In Bacolod City, three persons were also arrested in a drug bust at 26th Calamba Street on Thursday.
