Pa, son face murder raps

TWO vendors were charged with murder before the Davao City Prosecutor’s Office on Friday, February 4, for killing a 36-year-old man at the Toril Public Market in Davao City.

Facing charges were Abdul Khader Sarif Radjamoda, 53, and his son Farouk Macaraya Radjamoda, 27, both residents from Purok 14 at Batulosa in Barangay Crossing Bayabas.

Police identified the victim as Melvin Reconalla Marga, 36, from Purok 5, Batulosa in Barangay Crossing Bayabas. Marga was shot dead at the Toril Public Market at 7:33 p.m., January 27.

Toril Police Station chief Ronald Lao, in a phone interview, said the two suspects were brought before the prosecution office on Friday for inquest proceedings following their arrest.

Lao said the two suspects were arrested in Barangay Crossing Bayabas on February 1 around 11:15 a.m. while police were conducting manhunt operation against them and five other suspects involved in the crime.

"We are still looking for the five other suspects only identified as Hamdam Macaraya Radjamoda, alias Asrap, Paopao, and two John Does," Lao said, adding that they are looking into personal grudge as motive of the suspects.

The two suspects are temporarily detained at the Toril Police Station. (ICT)
