A MAN and his son were rescued after their pump boat capsized in the waters of Barangay Tomongtong in E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental on Saturday morning.
Rescued were Rey Jacosalem and his 16-year-old son.
Despite continuous warnings from the authorities, both still ventured out to the sea to catch crabs Friday afternoon.
Senior Inspector Bonifacio Aral Jr., chief of E.B. Magalona Municipal Police Station, said the victims’ family asked for assistance after both failed to return home while northern Negros was placed under Signal No. 2 due to Tropical Storm Marce.
Both were rescued around 1:30 a.m. the following day. They stayed in the sea for about 12 hours after their boat was damaged, but they were unharmed.
