ARCHITECT Felino Palafox is advocating the return of the original design of Daniel Burnham for the City.

u201cWe must have an architectural activism and be architects for humanity.”

On Saturday, Palafox was in the city to give a talk on urban planning and design attended by over 800 students, architects, engineers and urban planners at the theatre of the University of the Cordilleras aiming to foster a deeper understanding of conservation and sustainable development.

Mayor Maurico Domogan welcomed participants over the weekend and backed the advocacy of the renowned green architect.

The event was backed by the General Emilio Aguinaldo Museum (GEAM), the local government of Baguio and the University of the Cordilleras.

GEAM was organized and founded in 1979 as a registered non stock, non-profit organization with the main purpose of perpetuating the name, legacy, and aspirations of the late patriot Emilio Aguinaldo y Famy, first President of the Philippine Republic - father of the Republic of the Philippines, as well as the contributions of the country's other heroes in the achievement of our freedom and independence.

GEAM is the lone interactive museum in the region which houses important cultural and historical artifacts for the public to view, appreciate and learn from for the advocacy to build love for country and pride of place. (Maria Elena Catajan)
