Parish readies for canonization of 2 popes

THE San Sebastian Parish in Bacolod City is preparing for the holding of the “Aggiornamento” event in Bacolod City, a triduum set on April 24 to 26, in preparation for the canonization of Blessed Pope John XXIII and Blessed Pope John Paul II on April 27.

Fr. Felix Pasquin, parish priest, presented the forthcoming activities for the said event.

These include the medical mission on April 24, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at John Paul II tower, and a triduum mass at 5:30 p.m. to be presided by Fr. Mitchel J. Guadalupe at the Bishop Antonio Y. Fortich Avenue fronting the JPII tower.

On April 25th, there will be a feeding of children at the JP II tower at 3 p.m.; and a triduum mass at 5:30 p.m. to be presided by Fr. Deogracias Aurelio Camon. A triduum mass will also be held in the same venue on April 26, 5:30 p.m.

This will be followed by a procession at 6:30 p.m. to be presided by Fr. Pasquin. The procession will take the routes from JP II tower to Padre Burgos St., turn right to Padre Ferrero St., turn right to Bishop Fortich Avenue and back to JP II tower.

On April 27 is the canonization ceremony in Rome which is the second Sunday of Easter and Divine Mercy Sunday.

There will be a bishop’s mass at the San Sebastian Cathedral at 10 a.m. (CNC)
