PCL gab spurred economic activities

PHILIPPINE Councilors League (PCL) chairman Davao City Councilor Danilo Dayanghirang thanked the councilors who attended the 3rd Quarterly National Executive Officers-National Board (NEO-NB) Meeting and 2nd Series of Continuing Local Legislative Education Program (CLLEP) last September 18 to 20, which he said spurred economic activities in the city and neighboring places.

"I would like to congratulate the councilor's league for heeding my request that their congress will be held here. The number of attendees was around 2,500 delegates and some of them brought their families," he said.

He said that some councilors also went to different tourist spots in Davao City and in the Island Garden City of Samal (Igacos).

"It generated a lot of revenues and activities in the city of Davao for two to three days," he said.

Dayanghirang also noted that the influx of tourists continue to flourish as manifested by the fully-booked flights bound to Davao.

"I'm glad that airplanes coming to Davao City are fully booked and we are on the right track of having a lot of tourists coming in the city," he said.

Dayanghirang, meanwhile, said that PCL has a scholarship program for their fellow councilors.

PCL has a total of 1,440 graduates nationwide who finished four-year courses since there are some councilors who were not able to finish their college education.

A total of 378 also received Master in Public Administration degrees and 82 with doctoral degrees.
