PDEA checks report of ‘Berya’ surrender

THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Negros Island Region (PDEA- NIR) is still verifying reports on the alleged surrender of the leader of Berya Group in Davao City Wednesday.

The reports of the supposed surrender of the suspected drug lord in Bacolod City came after Melvin Odicta Sr., believed to be the biggest illegal drug financer in Western Visayas Region, and his wife Meriam Regalado Odicta were shot to death by an unidentified assailant at the Caticlan Jetty Port in Aklan on August 29.

PDEA-NIR Director Julius Navales said they have yet received information about the surrender of the Berya Group leader.

“We’ll check with the Intelligence Unit if such report is true,” Navales said.

Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent Flynn Dongbo, acting director of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said he has yet to receive such report but they are continuously monitoring big-time drug personalities and other groups involved in illegal drugs activities in the city. (GYM)
