THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Davao assured the public that they are not into planting of evidence on suspected drug personalities during their anti-illegal drug operations in the region.

In an interview on Thursday, August 31, PDEA regional director Adzhar Albani said they do not tolerate this act as this is a crime punishable by law under Section 29 (Planting of Evidence) of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

"It is not tolerated in our agency," he said.

This statement was made amid allegations being raised in the government's drug war especially during the recent drug raids like the one that led to the death of Ozamiz Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog, Sr. and 14 others.

Albani said they have not recorded a single complaint on fabricated evidence during their operations in the region as they abide with the law.

He also urged those who have complaints against the agency to file a case if they saw irregularities in the conduct of their duty. However, he also pointed out some drug offenders are also using this to protect themselves.
