PDEA won't release brgy. execs in narco list

THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Central Visayas is not keen on releasing the names of barangay officials who are suspected to be involved in drug trafficking.

PDEA-Central Visayas information officer Leia Albiar said the future operations against these officials might be hampered if they learn their names are included in the list of drug personalities.

She said PDEA national headquarters have a list of 563 public officials engaged in drug trafficking.

Albiar has no data on narco-politicians in Central Visayas.

"Unfortunately we cannot disclose the list because disclosing it would be premature," she said.

Albiar said President Rodrigo Duterte has the authority to release the names.

She said the law enforcement's goal is to arrest and prosecute the drug personalities.

Albiar urged candidates to take voluntary drug test to erase doubts. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
